Creating an effective project plan for students to develop relevant and practical 3D skills is imperative. We have put together some ideas and suggestions that could make setting up your curriculum a little bit easier.

Task 1: Import and embed (Beginner)

Brief: Create an impressive 3D and AR product showcase for a client website and e-comm.

Learning value: Adding a 3D to a website is a useful skill not just for e-commerce, but also when creating any online content, even a personal portfolio. Alternatively, a direct link can be shared directly with a client to present a mockup or a final design. No need to send or download heavy files.

Directions:

  1. Import a 3D product - drag and drop the object (zip file) on the scene
  2. Adjust the materials and lights
  3. Add an AR preview
  4. Share as an embed or as a direct link

Task 2: Create a branded 3D mockup (Beginner)

Brief: Present a new brand identity to a client using various 3D models to show the versatility of the logos, colors, signage.

Learning value: To successfully showcase creative ideas and designs for a new brand identity relies on having the right presentation. ****Sending a static logo will not suffice. However, using 3D for concept and mockup presentations is becoming an industry standard. (This lesson can be combined with 2D graphic design exploration. )

Directions:

  1. Use your own logo design
  2. Export the logo as SVG or PNG with transparent background
  3. Import to Studio
  4. Go to Elements library and choose a mockup: Object panel on the left > Workspaces tab > Vectary Elements > Mockups
  5. Customize it to the brand’s colors
  6. Place logo on the mockup
  7. Create AR
  8. Share a direct link

Task 3: Model a 3D robot for a game (Beginner)

Brief: Create a robot character from scratch and send your design to the studio with a direct link
